Material-Verybest Crepe,
- 1 fold each No. 144 Amber,
- No. 188 Brown,
- No. 150 Red;
- 1 sheet Mat Stock;
- 2/3 yd. 1/2" yellow ribbon;
- paste.

Make foundation cap of double thickness of amber crepe similar to the foundation for the frog's head, using pieces 161/ deep and slanting
to slightly wider than the head size at bottom. Seam slanting ends. Double and cut out for face, Fig. E. Gather at top, Fig. F.
Cut strips of amber and brown 3" wide into rows of pointed feathers 1" wide, 1 1/2" deep*. Snip on pointed ends, Fig. G. Stitch to foundation
in alternating overlapping rows, using the sewing machine for the first 5 or 6 rows and hand sewing for the remainder. Gather strips slightly at top to allow them to lie smoothly.

Cut beak, Fig. 6, wattles, Fig. 7, and comb, Fig. 8, page 31, from mat stock. Cover comb and wattles with red, beak with brown crepe paper. Cut comb double, paste together and turn tabs out at either side to paste to head. Paste all in place, as shown in the illustration. Tint ends of feathers. with brown crayon or water color paint applied with a very dry brush. Sew ribbon ties in place.

If a complete costume is needed, follow the instructions for the Robin. Vary shape and sizeof wings, tail and colorings as necessary.
